Best for building natural-color broadband data with a monochrome camera.
Choose filter size around the sensor diagonal, telescope speed, and filter-wheel or drawer geometry. Flats are still required; a filter can improve contrast, but it will not rescue tilt, bad focus, or poor calibration.

- Monochrome cooled cameras and electronic filter wheels
- Broadband galaxies, clusters, reflection nebulae, and star fields
- Dark-sky sites or well-calibrated light-polluted workflows
Not recommended for
