Filter type: Broadband light-pollution filter
Filter size: 2" Mounted
Glass thickness: 1.85 mm

Spectral

Passbands: Multi-band broadband selected visual bands with IR suppression
Band count: 1 band
Blocking: Suppresses common artificial light pollution while preserving color balance

Construction

Substrate / coating: Optical glass; Multi-layer anti-reflection coating

Use

Camera use: One-shot color cameras, DSLRs, and luminance-style broadband imaging
Best for: Broadband targets, galaxies, reflection nebulae, clusters, and mixed target lists

Astrophotography Fit

A supporting filter that should match the camera, telescope speed, and target type.

Optolong L-Pro is a midrange Broadband light-pollution filter (1.25", 2", clip-in, and other variants). Passbands: Multi-band broadband selected visual bands with IR suppression.

A supporting filter that should match the camera, telescope speed, and target type.

Choose filter size around the sensor diagonal, telescope speed, and filter-wheel or drawer geometry. Flats are still required; a filter can improve contrast, but it will not rescue tilt, bad focus, or poor calibration.

Best paired with

Cameras and filter holders with the same physical size
Targets that match the passband
A calibration workflow that includes flats after filter changes

Not recommended for

Using as a fix for poor focus, tracking, or gradients
Filter sizes smaller than the illuminated sensor path
Targets outside the filter passband
