Astrophotography Fit
A portable tracking platform for lenses, small refractors, and travel sessions.
Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer GTi is a midrange Portable GoTo equatorial mount for portable tracking. Rated payload: 5 kg / 11 lb.
Trackers are at their best with wide lenses and short telephotos, where polar alignment and balance are manageable and small periodic error is not magnified too aggressively.
Best paired with
- DSLR or mirrorless cameras with wide to short-telephoto lenses
- Small ball head or lightweight declination bracket
- Short exposures, careful polar alignment, and travel power
Not recommended for
- Long focal length telescopes or heavy cooled-camera trains
- Automated meridian-flip deep-sky sessions without GoTo support
- Windy nights where a light tripod will dominate tracking error
