Astrophotography Fit

A supporting filter that should match the camera, telescope speed, and target type.

Starizona Apex ED 0.65x Reducer / Flattener - ApexED S - (Short) is a midrange astronomy filter.

A supporting filter that should match the camera, telescope speed, and target type.

Choose filter size around the sensor diagonal, telescope speed, and filter-wheel or drawer geometry. Flats are still required; a filter can improve contrast, but it will not rescue tilt, bad focus, or poor calibration.

Best paired with

Cameras and filter holders with the same physical size
Targets that match the passband
A calibration workflow that includes flats after filter changes

Not recommended for

Using as a fix for poor focus, tracking, or gradients
Filter sizes smaller than the illuminated sensor path
Targets outside the filter passband
