Tele Vue Powermate 4x increases effective focal length while keeping the optical path well behaved for demanding eyepieces or planetary cameras. It is a premium way to reach higher magnification when the seeing and telescope can support it.
Use it deliberately. More magnification only helps when focus, collimation, thermal stability, and atmospheric seeing are already cooperating.
